Life Lately with Instagram

Happy Friday!!

I just wanted to quickly say thank you for all of the responses to my post about being more intentional about my mornings and prayer time. I had so many emails about it from people who could relate and felt encouraged by it. I'm so glad! That's the point of why I share. I'm far from perfect y'all, I think that's obvious, but I am striving to be intentional, focused and the woman God has called me to be. I hope to continue sharing this journey of being intentional with you, so we can encourage each other along the way! This week has been amazing. We have set a new order in our home, and it is making huge differences.

On a much lighter note, I thought I'd do just that. Lighten things up a bit around here.

Do you use instagram? If not, you should. Let me explain my love for instagram. I'm not sure I told you this but on our trip home from Hawaii, I lost my camera. My Nikon D90. My love. It had some weird quirks, it was finicky and moody, but I understood him. Came to know those quirks and even love them. I don't know if it got stolen or simply "lost" somewhere between Hawaii, Denver and San Antonio. I didn't know it was gone until a couple of days after we got home. I kept thinking it would pop up, but once everything had officially been put away and unpacked, it hit me that it was, gone.

I was so sad. I am so sad. I used it for everything, not to mention those things are expensive and not so easy to just replace. In the mean time Brandon got me a canon one shot-something or other- to use. It works. It takes pictures, sure, but it's really slow. Like click the button and wait 2 minutes while praying your children don't move. Yeah Right. Totally defeats the purpose of picture taking for me, because I like to "catch" them more often then "pose" them.

So that's why I've come to love the camera on my iphone even more. And instagram especially. It's an app that allows  you to use different filters to make your pictures look vintage, or black and white, or other cool looks. THEN....and this is the part I love, because whats the point of taking pictures if you can't keep them.... You can take those pictures and have them printed at places like this, or even made into magnets like here. So all of those cool pictures you're taking? Ones that you love so much and don't want to lose, like this one?
They don't have to stay on your phone! I love that. It softens the blow of the loss of my camera. Just a little. Like a tiny bit actually, but still.

Here's some pictures I shared on instragram from this past week, just a bit of our life lately...

I took the Project Hope memory boxes to Threads of Love on Tuesday. It was an emotional day for me. I'm still working on the post about it, because there is so much I want to share about it. My hope is to bring more awareness of this ministry and the many avenues they bless people. They are doing so much. The best way I could describe this place is just plain special. You can feel the love and peace, and just pure goodness that comes from this place as soon as you walk in. Can't wait to tell you all about it.

These two are what you would call nosey neighbors. I can imagine them at 80 years old doing the same thing.

This is part of my night time routine. Celestial Seasonings Sleepy time tea. Before we started our Daniel Fast, this was a bowl of cookie dough ice cream. I hardly notice the difference. {you might want to move over, lightening might strike}

I got to carry my precious niece around Target, for her first big trip there. She was so snuggly and sweet. I considered running away with her, but my sister knows where I live. Darn.

These olives are so good. But be warned, you won't be able to stop eating them and then your stomach will burn for about an hour after you consume too many. So take my advice, eat a couple, then put the fork down and walk away my friend.

This right here is how we entertain ourselves when Daddy is taking too long to run in and get eggs at the store.

I bought this Erin Condren planner a few months back. I'd jot things down here and there, but hadn't started using it to it's full potential. One of my intentions is to write things down more. Plan out my days. Even if it's as simple as "clean out closet" as one of my to-do's for the day. I'm writing it down. So I wrote all of my to-do's and goals for the week, and today I went back to see what I had accomplished so far. It was so fulfilling to check things off and see what I had done. Now I know why list makers are list makers. It's sort of addicting and really gratifying. Not to mention a huge part of being intentional.

This. This empty green table in our craft/play room. It may not mean much to you, but for me, my heart skips a beat seeing it's emptiness. See, I have a struggle with laundry. It's a war, really. One I am always fighting. To stay caught up. And by caught up I mean all laundry cleaned, folded and put away. Most often this table has at least one load of laundry that needs to be folded and put away. Over the holidays and my pursuit to just be present with my family, I fell waaaay behind on it.  Like way. Like "go look for some clean socks on the green table" became normal. So this week, I determined to catch up on it. And as of last night, I did. I hung up that last pair of kid jeans and heard angels sing.

life rearranged

  1. Hooray for the clean table!! My spot is the TV stand. That is where I fold my laundry. One bonus... you can't use the remote if the laundry is piled in front.

  2. I love sleepy time tea.
    Laundry is a killa! Blah!

  3. Oh man do I understand your laundry woes...we have a laundry couch! Its usually got at least two loads of laundry on it...sometimes more. Sometimes there's a couple loads on it and a couple on a chair in our room. Sigh...thus is the life with a big family! :) Love your blog by the way!

  4. Your niece is adorable! Love the pictures :) Thanks for the shop sale, just bought my first item from you!!!
Can't wait to see what new ideas you have in store.

  5. You are such a sweet_ great haired lady. I luv your new planner_ the best is definitely yet to come. Your niece is a cutey pa-tutey. And I can't wait to hear about the Project Hope boxes. Love you girly.
