hello spring

I get so excited when spring comes around. It is one of my favorite seasons. Everything is just so fresh and new. One of my most favorite parts about spring is all of the flowers. We have patches of bluebonnets that grow wild here in Texas. When you see them, you know spring is here.

We've had some gorgeous couple of days here. The weather has been so perfect. I took the girls on a walk to the park yesterday and it got me wanting to come home and bring all that springy-ness inside.

One thing I love to do is buy fresh flowers from the grocery store each week. A small bundle only costs about 4.00 and usually lasts 2 weeks. Right now I've got yellow roses in my kitchen. Can't go wrong with yellow roses.

We also buy a new hydrangea plant each spring for our front entry way. I love to cut off the blooms and bring them inside. Hydrangeas remind me of my girls in heaven and just make my heart so happy.

I'm making some of these hanging vases for our living room to add more spots for fresh flowers.

I really love this spring mantle. It's got the mixture of the wood and white that I'm really into and lots of fresh and green. And then all those white dishes...love them. Target has a whole line of white dishes right now, have you seen it?

This is a cute idea for bringing some spring inside too. I would probably leave the ribbon off, but I like the little nest inside.

How about growing your own grass inside? Why not! How fun would it be and you get that fresh cut grass smell each time you cut it down. I want to do this for sure!

I  really want a lemon tree for my kitchen too. anyone else?

Have you started decorating for spring? What are some other ways to bring spring inside? I'd love to hear some of your ideas!

  2. Love spring!

With an apartment, I'm limited in my gardening, but I have been picking up more and more flowers at the grocery store, or at least more frequently.

I finished the new spring wreath for our front door this weekend, I just need to find a springier door mat to go with it before I put it out.

My husband wants to buy me birthday presents, and I told him I want potted plants and chairs for the patio so I can sit outside and pretend to have a garden. Not exactly what he was thinking! I'm so jealous of your hydrangeas, they were my grandma's favorite, so we always had them, and lilacs under my bedroom window growing up.

And, I'm dying for an afternoon off and a bluebonnet field to host a mini shoot, they're the best natural backdrop southern Texas has to offer!

  5. That mantel is like my dream mantel. Love it for the same reasons you do. And yes! That line at Target makes me stop every single time. I told my mom yesterday that I wish I could register there for no reason but to get all of that stuff.
